Preparation Starts in Orientation and Continues throughout your tenure at Johnson…
Developing critical analytical skills begins during orientation with the Strategic Thinking Program, a program developed to teach students how to systematically approach, analyze and recommend solutions to cross functional business problems – just like you’ll be doing during case interviews. The Johnson School considers the ability to analyze and resolve multi-disciplinary problems to be so important all 1st year student are required to take the class!
Dedicated Resources…
In addition to consulting specific coursework, the school also has dedicated, Consultant’s in Residence, Randy Allen, a former Deloitte partner and Nate Peck, a former consultant with McKinsey & Company and a partner at BearingPoint. Their time is divided between teaching courses, nurturing relationships with top firms, and advising and assisting students with case interview preparation, career searches and mentoring. Significant expertise and experience exist in other faculty and staff members, from senior executives in industry to partner level individuals from firms the Johnson School faculty knows what it takes to generate top level consulting talent– and they’re all at your fingertips.

Not only will you be exposed to cutting edge business theory and principles, but you also have multiple opportunities to put those tools into practice. In addition to real world projects available through the Consulting Focus there are additional projects available through the Big Red Incubator, a student run consulting organization that serves entrepreneurs in need of business advice.
